Ok. Long story short. Ollanius Pius is patron saint of the Imperial Guard.

He is important because during the climactic battle of the Horus Heresy, Horus was about the finish off the Emperor. Then a lone Guardsman stood in the way and defied Horus to come closer.
He was brutally killed by Horus but it made the Emperor realize how far Horus had fallen to Chaos. So Emperor just blasts Horus out of existence, literally.

Depends greatly on the skill of that squad, special weapons, equipment, etc.
It has happened to me where a squad beats the odds and wipes out superior foes.
If reinforcements are coming, the enemy will be in deep trouble.
