o_o you know you really shouldn't mess with a crab after it's molted. It really IS it's most delicate state and any bothering you do to it could affect development. There is a reason they try to dig far under the sand when they molt; they want to be left alone...
And molting doesn't really mean anything, except that they're growing. It's a natural process of life for creatures with exoskeletons, they just sometimes don't make it through a molt based on various things like conditions and diet.

omg thats astounding! he looks great in that shell. i do hope he was able to eat the exoskeleton though! they need to do that to absorb the nutrients from it! usually they dont come up until they have finished eating it // so glad he's doing alright, he looks absolutely beautiful ^^

ahhh hes cute!
my mom's crab molted but something happend and he didn't make it afterwards. he changed shells but idk what made him die. I think she'd like to have another but is afraid it would happen again. any suggestions?
