Among the best known of the wild gods is the ancient entity known as Doudin, The Earth Wanderer. Dating back to the late Pleistocene, during the time known as “The last ice age”, it’s one of the oldest wild gods to ever been recorded.

From the description in cave painting and Cavefolk’s folklore, Doudin was a massive magical entity, larger than any known being at the time and was often told to be like “a small mountain that moves”. It’s said to have a long, serpent-like neck, four columnar legs as thick as a great tree trunk and a long, flowing tail. Numerous flora from vines to bushes and trees grew all over the body of the great titan, with a small grove of bushes and conifers lay upon its back. Doudin’s size had never been accurately documented and there was no evidence to help in estimation as well, other than what was told loosely in the lore. Overall, researchers had speculated that it could likely be more than 60 metres in length, based on the famous description that “...Even 10 mammoths in a line couldn’t even match the beast’s great shadow...”.

Perhaps the best known feature of this entity is its contribution to the unique ecosystem that was the dominant landscape of the last ice age called Doudin’s Plain. It was the vast grassland that once spread from Pensivior to the northmost of Paranthir. The grassland was maintained by beneficial arcane energy that was released from the body of Doudin itself. The energy increased the nutrients in the soils, boosting nutrition in food plants, which then provided a surplus amount of energy to animals that lived in the habitats. Thousands upon thousands of years within the entity’s existence had thus formed the ecosystem full of incredible creatures that had taken advantage of the energy, evolved into unique wildlife that couldn’t be found elsewhere on the earth, from various large-bodied proboscideans that could grew larger and faster than their normal counterparts, to numerous grazers that filled the plain with thunderous hooves and to fearsome carnivores like giant lions and dragons that prey upon those bountiful prey.

Throughout its seemingly immortal existence, Doudin wandered the plain non-stop, spreading bounty of energy everywhere. The Cavefolk, who at the time, was the only sapient race that frequently encountered Doudin, had worshipped it as a wild god, celebrated and adored its presence which would bring numerous food plants and wild games. Nobody knew exactly what its sole purpose was, nor if the titan even realized its role in the ecosystem. The lore noted that Doudin, unlike other wild gods, never actually interacted with its followers, however it did seem to be aware of its surroundings and would actively change course whenever it walked close to hunter’s camp. There is a tale of a lone cavefolk who got lost in the plain, injured and was on the verge of starvation. When he finally collapsed and lay there, waiting for death to come, Doudin had arrived and for the first time in forever, stopped walking and lowered its head to gaze at the dying caveman. A large drop of dew from its vine fell into the man’s gaping mouth and immediately gave him strength to continue on, in which he found a nearby clan later that day and was rescued. Doudin was thus viewed as a benevolent being, despite not having much interaction with the cavefolks.

The researchers had little clue of how Doudin came to be. Judging from the lore that it didn’t eat or drink and that its body was made of earth and rock, it’s likely that Doudin was a type of none-organism, a natural born golem that was infused with the soul of a creature. Since golems are often formed in the shape similar to that of the creature its soul once belonged to, it was speculated that Doudin might be infused with the soul of sauropod dinosaur, the only creature that seemed to fit the description of the titan the most and it might even belonged to a singular magus specimen with higher intellect, since normal creature’s souls don’t typically linger long in the world after their death and will be distingerate into more basal form of arcane energy.

Spending nearly eternity in its restless and aimless journey, Doudin eventually came to its expiration. The lore said that trees began to die all over its body, with rock and mud falling and crumbling… And eventually, none ever saw Doudin again. There was no clue of where the titan fell and took its final rest. However, the thing that confirmed the wild god’s fate was the rapid drop of its beneficial arcane energy in the ecosystem. Within a few centuries, the energy that once sustained Doudin’s Plain was gone… The ecosystem that had relied on it for so long crumbled. Animals that couldn't cope with the drop of nutrition met their doom in extinction. As the number of megaherbivores that kept the grassland going dropped significantly, forest and woodland began to overtake much of the area and eventually changed the face of Eurus into what it is today.

However, with the survival of the cavefolks, Doudin lives on as the tales that fascinates people of various races and status. Researchers have adopted its name to use as many sauropod species' common names. Many locations and brands are also named after this magnificent titan that reminded people of the time when wonders of nature roamed the world.
