Besides Pyramid Head, the Laying Figures were my favorite, just the way they moved like broken wind-up dolls.... Have you seen the Making of the Monsters segment of the Silent Hill movie? It was very interesting to watch the construction of the make up and costumes...

gamers commonly refer to them as Patient Demons but the official name for them in the Production Notes of Silent Hill is "Lying Figure" because they scoot around on their bellies when shot; it's also a reference to Francis Bacon's "Lying Figures" series of paintings which partly inspired the look of these monsters.
Gamers are also often surprised at the fact that Pyramid Head is actually officially called the "Red Pyramid Thing"
