Jing Ling Evolution is composed of kids known as spirit bearers (shown by their ears); each spirit bearer is appointed with a spiritual being called a Jing Ling, who serves as a companion and almost an alter-ego. Guess who they're supposed to be inspired by?

Inuno is on a mission to unlock spiritual beings called Jing Ling, who lends their powers to their chosen spirit bearer and the two become one. To aid him on his journey, his master Din Foo entrusts Inuno with a Jing Ling of his own named Jin Hua, the Evolution Spirit; together, the two begin their search for the remaining Jing Ling and learn how "the power of one will not work without the power of together".

Reza cares little about rules, civilization, and peace. Nobody has caught this crooked thief, because he always attacks at night. During one prowl, Reza was finally caught by the shisengumi (Japanese police) and almost beaten to death, when Jing Ling Yue came to his “rescue” and scared them away. He then catches Inuno and company, where he reveals that he commits crimes to show his former family how “much of a man he is”. Realizing that what he does is wrong, he reluctantly tags along as another fellow spirit bearer. Despite his dishonest lifestyle, Reza’s also a skilled shaman.

Reza’s name is derived from leather.
