Everything looks smooth!
I'd suggest you give a closer look at the frames right after the boss appears behind your main character. He slides an inch forward when he grabs him. (While standing still)

The grab animation seems to be missing something. He's standing there then instantly he's holding the guy. Maybe a blur effect?

You're right - there's no tween sprite to grab people. I have one for when Tiger grabs people, but it's barely noticeable so I cut it for Oguun.

itd be nicer if the sprite were as nice as the background. it might just be Ogun though, you plan on doing a color revision?

Not currently. The pixelly parts on his jacket won't be there, but the sprites have to be simplified to cut down on the animation time.
