Yea, this shoot was the first time I ever caught lightning. I hope to catch more this summer.

I love the camera, however any camera that lets you fiddle with shutter speed, aperture, any sort of manual control can capture lightning, it was just a matter of setting a long exposure and waiting and hoping that lightning would strike.

HAHA.

My best friend wanted to take me to this place in AZ - a field in the highest lightning area on the planet, with 100 lightning rods. You can rent a cabin there and walk through the rods in a storm, completely safely. It's supposed to be one of those intense life altering experiences.

Wonderful capture! It is hard to get a good shot at lightning as distinct as that...it looks like it's being thrust from the clouds...

Thank you, and yes the lightning is real. The only photoshopping was for some minor color correction and small spot removal.
