It's the color of her skin that looks out of place. Taking a model out of the original background into a new one is sometime difficult.
Waht would you do to make it look more natural?Β

Well, it's not only that.
the problem is due to a light/shadow balance. When we see the waves and, more of that, the shadow under the sand (Even if the shadow of the fin hadn't created), we think of a strongue light source. But we don't found it on the mermaid. It's for that it's give an unatural look.
(if the hand is in contact with the sand like that, the ass look's like floating on it. What is apply to one have to go with the other.)

I changed the shadows and I added some light reflexion on the tail.

Mmmh, yes it's better. but...
the shadow of the tail and the arm aren't the same orientation even if you had change it (orientation of the shadow arm) a little. It's good you changed the shadow intensity instead of let it like before. Don't forgive the fine aren't the same opacity everywere. Even if you put a little shadow under it (the fine), it isn't enof when we compare to the other where the opacity is strongue. I see you put a light on the shoulder. It's good but don't forgive the other humans part (head, chest,...).
I think if you upgrade that and you say it to MensjeDeZeemeermin , he will change is mind and comment ^^.

Lovely color and sweep of tail... Kind of flat and not very intricate. Β The model is believable, the overall effect is static.
