My thoughts is that I think it looks really great, I just don't understand the last panel. Who died?

The male Worgen and the male Draenei. The Draenei killed the Worgen, then Maskurade killed the Draenei.

The draenei male is stabbing the worgen male in the second panel, killing him. Behind the draenei is the blood elf rogue who finishes him off while he is not looking.

I love the name for this. Its not clear or certain what goes on like black and white...there is uncertainty, the shades of gray.

My personal interpretation...the female draenei and worgen, may be bitter rivals in some sort of situation, may just not get along well with each other, that’s what the last panel where their loved one's graves are far apart from each other tell me. Their tears and roses mean they loved their men, but may have intentionally dragged them into fighting one another, to see whose partner was the better fighter, aka the better man and outdoing the other female in status and reputation with having the champion at their side. The first panel makes me think of the female talking to the male, complaining to him about the worgen female's lover, that he somehow disgraced her or was vulgar to her, so her lover seeks revenge on his lady's behalf. He seems to be bending over/kneeling and vowing to her he will bring him to justice for her sake.

Then comes along Maskurade. It is not intentional her role, she merely sees an opportunity to eliminate a member of the alliance while he is distracted and already exhausted from a fierce battle, having just fought and killed the worgen. She kind of reminds me of the story of Solomon, who ordered a baby to be cut in half and give half to each woman who argued that the baby was their own, to see which was the real mother and would give up her child to the other woman so that he would live. The false mother would be happy to have just half of the child. She serves the same kind of judgment in this...if neither woman could let go of their bitter rivalry with the other and be grateful for having such devoted men love them, then they did not deserve these men by their side and would take the men from them.

So in the end, the women are left mourning over their loved ones and left in guilt over their selfishness.

There's my 2 cents ♥

Very nice. That, imo, trumps the original idea my boyfriend and I came up with for this piece.

Thank you, though I am curious to hear the actual storyline. A picture is worth a thousand words as the saying goes.

Alrighty.

The idea we came up while planning this out was the idea that life can be seen in shades of gray at times. Like not seeing right from wrong.

The story goes that the Female priestess and the Male paladin (Draenei) say their goodbyes before he takes leave to the North to help with the various evils that are plaguing the Alliance fronts there. While passing through Silverpine, he sees a Worgen with it's back to him. Taking the advantage of killing one of the remaining followers of Argual, he strikes. The Worgen, taken by complete surprise, attempts to fight back. Begging for his life, the paladin denies it believing it to be lies. Maskurade, watching from a distance and laughing to herself at the idiots the Alliance can be, takes the opportunity to kill another moron. The paladin falls hearing Mask laugh that the Worgen had been honest. News of the death of the Worgen and the Draenei reach back to Stormwind. Their bodies arrive a few days later to be buried. The two are buried in the same graveyard, not far from each other. Their loved ones mourn the loss, unaware that the wife of the killer and the victim stand feet away from the other.

Ah, a traditional storyline of the veteran races still wary of their new allies, I like it. I don't know if you planned it that way but its kind of ironic you would pitch a draenei against a worgen in that scenario, since the draenei had to go through the same thing as well, being called demons (eredar) for the longest time. The ending also leaves a nice little cliffhanger...the two women will never know what really happened to their loved ones or are they were connected in the whole thing. Bravo.

Thank my boyfriend for being insistent on it being a Draenei male paladin. And funny thing is, I picked Worgen as a joke of how much I hate editing their males.

>_> I didn't even realise it was a picnic... And I don't know if I'd say they were attacked, it's a quest thing in Grizzly Hills after all maybe he did the quest, and killed the wrong Worgen =O Then Maskurade came along to kill the fugly Draenei man.

It's not a picnic. No idea where whoever started that got that idea. To clear things up, panel 1 is in Stormwind.

Male and Female Draenei on a picknick together in Gilneas, then during the plague thingy in Gilneas, Male Worgen attacked 'em. Girl Draenei ran away, looking back to see both males on the ground bleeding and a female Belf behind them. Male worgen's best friend and female draenei mourning over losees....poor gals.

I think Fanatican's explanation is the most believable one. Although I am confused how the worgen got involved and why he's apparently the bad guy.

Or maybe Draenei male tries to woo Draenei female to no avail, he goes off and kills the worgen, who was the one Draenei female secretly loved all along. The worgen male's &wife/admirer/whatever and Draenei female both mourn his death D:

Draenei women was married to Draenei male, who killed a worgen male, but got killed by Maskurade then.
And then, both wifes, are now stand at their graves!
Simple, I think :3

The 2 draeneis have a romantic picnik, but then they got attacked. The female draenei flee and the male fighted against they're attackers. But, he wasnt strong enough to survive. He saved her life and died...

Really well done
