Actually, i'm very curious to know your reasoning behind your ''I think of a few reason why'' line. Did you mean that in a sincere way, or a sarcastic ''lol she is wolverine with tits''?

I think the fact that she is a beautiful woman is a big part of her popularity. However, on the other side of the equation, she's been written extremely well, and her characterization has been excellent.

On the former part - That seems a bit far-fetched to me. Attractiveness being a big part of her popularity? That's hardly true. There are other good-looking women out there as well, and yet not all of them recieved popularity.
It's the latter part of which you got right: Her character is astounding. That's what makes her so wonderful. And don't get me wrong, I think X-23 is a gorgeous teenager, but to say that it's mostly just her looks that made her into a success would be extremely false.
