He is so much more than a Sonic-ripoff! (Because he's NOT!)

I've been wanting to draw this ethereal floppy-eared cat/dog/rabbit whatchamacallit for a very long time now, especially in this art style, but it's hard to find the time these days.

Klonoa: Empire of Dreams for the GBA was one of the first games I ever owned, and I have quite the personal attachment and history with this character.

I'll never forget the day my older brother got me a Gameboy Advance, accompanied with EoD when I was about 6 or 7 years old. He also got me Metroid Fusion, but I did not like the game because I did not understand the gameplay and thought it was too hard (not anymore, I fully appreciate and love it now as an adult). I actually preferred EoD, and I fell in love with the puzzle-based platforming and dream aesthetic; it instantly clicked with me. I also eventually got my hands on Dream Champ Tournament in my early teens.

Unfortunately, I never got the chance to play any of the OG Playstation titles growing up, but I'm looking forward to rectify that soon, lol

Even with JUST the GBA titles, Klonoa was nonethless a childhood favorite of mine and has since solidified himself as one of my all-time favorite video game characters.
Those games definitely shaped and influenced me to what I am today.

TBH, I would absolutely love it if he was in Smash. He would make such a great and unique character with his signature Wind Bullet, but as much as I would love it, it's probably never going to happen. His franchise is basically dead nowadays (though that didn't stop Banjo), and there is much competition against him because of other more relevant Bamco franchises out there.

Oh well, a man can DREAM, right? Maybe he can be a premium Mii Gunner costume? I'll at least take that.

Anyways, hope you enjoyed my little backstory with Klonoa, and now here he is in my legacy "Mario & Luigi RPG" art style!
