YO, PIKACHU BE PACKING HEAT?!!

Based on the classic internet meme from 2012 , but I wanted to bring it back TO THIS DAY AND AGE since I feel like it's now more RELEVANT than ever before!

So here I redrew the whole comic and even colored it too!

Apparently, it's no secret that the quality of the Pokemon franchise has been in hot water as of late, and now that has been exacerbated thanks to the rise of a "certain" new game that released early 2024. (I don't even need to name names here)

Coming from a longtime Pokemon fan as myself, whose played nearly EVERY generation of the mainline games to DATE, the quality of recent Pokemon games nowadays has admittedly been lacking quite a bit in the last few years and TPC/GameFreak aren't innovating well enough in how they're making their games these days. I personally enjoyed Scarlet/Violet (Gen IX) for the most part, but when you're a multi-billion dollar company that charges full price for an unpolished buggy game with frames dropping to 5-10 frames/second, you know you've got yourself an unfinished product right there.

So yeah, while Pokemon no doubt will remain the undisputed king of the creature-collecting genre, I think some competition is actually GOOD thing for it, as this'll definitely allow GameFreak/TPC to slow down and reevaluate making their games instead of pumping them out every few years just to make a quick buck. It comes as no surprise to me when a game from a smaller studio comes out of nowhere to challenge the dominance of the iconic yellow rat. We can only hope this motivates Pokemon/Nintendo to make the next generation of their games even more fun and engaging, and who honestly doesn't want that? (Just don't expect any realistic firearms featured in their games anytime soon!)

Personally, I have not played that new blowout "Pokemon but with Guns" game, but from what I heard about it, its gameplay actually looks kinda fun NGL, and I'd be willing to try it out if I actually had a gaming PC, but sadly I don't ATM. Say what you want about it being unoriginal or uninspired (kinda like the meme above), but hot DAMN do those numbers speak for themselves. (I guess all that people care about is an enjoyable experience to play at the end of the day!)

But yeah, regardless of my personal takes on this whole situation, I hope this little comic has gotten a few laughs for ya (for the memes), so please enjoy it nonetheless!
