Don't worry. Alphadream's gone, but there's not a snowball's chance in hell that the Mario you love will die off that easily.
Plus, it's far from easy to make the mario games take a massive decline like Starfox did.

But arn't both Mario and Starfox made by the same company?

KoreOfEmAll In reply to ToxicIsland [2020-02-28 17:03:27 +0000 UTC]
Yes.
But Starfox screwed up by making a game with a storyplot that takes multiple paths but doesn't flow to a concrete ending. Thus, their lack of story flow made it nearly impossible to create a sequel to the game.
Mario, on the other hand, doesn't pay much attention to story plot, at least not very often. There are a few games like Bowser inside story, or luigi dream team, but since the story doesn't exactly matter, it's easy to make sequel games.
And due to the popularity still lingering, companies will jump at the chance to use it to real in them muns.
Essentially, it doesn't take much to keep the mario franchise going, unlike starfox.
you catch my drift?

But isn’t gameplay supposed to be more important than story in video games?

KoreOfEmAll In reply to ToxicIsland [2020-02-29 04:12:52 +0000 UTC]
Depends on the video game.
Like detective pikachu for example, story plot matters there.
Mario focuses on action.
and some, like legend of Zelda or Star Fox, are a mix between the two.

So is the most recent Star Fox game, Star Fox Zero loaded with glitches, much like most modern Sonic games?

No. I was talking about Star Fox command.
Y'know, the one that screwed up the Star Fox story almost completely? The big blunder of Star Fox? It was made in 2006

Still, was Star Fox Zero any better in terms of gameplay and storytelling?

...I have no idea. I haven't even looked at a game summary of it.
The only Star Fox games I know are Adventures, Assault, and Command.

First Cing, and now AlphaDream..
Nintendo really doesn't want to help them out of their situations, but sure would gladly help PlatinumGames.

Dude, this tribute to Mario and Luigi really expresses the love you have for a series you hold dear to your heart. Every detail really captures the game's cartoony dynamic and the pastel-crayon-ish artwork you'd find on the box.
As one Mario and Luigi fan to another, I loved this RPG series too. The Mario and Luigi RPGs were awesome, including the mainline games and remakes! The only one I haven't gotten a chance to play was Paper Jam. I'm currently replaying Dream Team on Hard Mode! If this was like a final installment to the series, this artwork should DEFINITELY be on the box!

That's not how it works, man. When a company goes out of business, then they can't afford to make games.

Nintendo is the Publisher. AlphaDream was the developer. 2 different groups each requiring funds in different ways...do your research please. Nintendo owns the characters, but developers can be licensed by Nintendo, under their supervision, to make games with their Intellectual Property.

While Paper Jam was a big dissapointment, the first gba installment is to this day in my top 5 Mario games and Dream Team is so far my favorite original 3ds rpg.
This is sad
