I started this at 9: oopm. It's 5:13am....I hope you all enjoy my first "serious" attempt at photoshop.
I'm so proud

I particularly love the shading ^^
the only thing I feel kinda throws off the picture [a little bit!] is the clouds. But, making clouds look like clouds is kinda tough lol I have trouble with them sometimes too x.x

First of all, wonderful choice of backgrounds - not adding one to the lineart was one of my concerns, but seeing this makes me feel much better about the decision. You set the mood very well with it.
Excellent job - I love how the shading came out, particularly on the hair. But what I really like are the secondary effects - the motion lines for the arrows, and the blood stains on the tetsubo and the armor - they are all touches that I really like.
Again, beautiful job. I'm quite impressed.

One more thing I liked - the black-tipped arrows. Made me think of obsidian. Very cool.

yea, i thought the idea was cool. I tried to put detail in everything, even the little things.

it is really a good attempt, now one thing is if you are going to give shadows to your character you have to give it darker tones for instance on the skin and the armor i always use the blur and smudge tool to give a smooth shadow effect and also i lower the flow and opacity of the brush. you might want to give it a try to see if it works for you. don't limit yourself when using photoshop, the program itself have a lot of tools and most of them let you have the same effect .
