Description
The Order of Chadron are an order of mages who have sworn their allegiance to Chancellor Lilly Smith. They are tasked with various duties including magic item production, maintaining barriers, and acting as support mages for combat teams.

The order was founded for the glimmes that Lilly gathered under her employ, which make up the bulk of their members. As they are ethereal beings, they require conjured bodies for them to inhabit in order for them to interact with the physical world and cast spells. Lilly had found a way to render the same complex body repeatedly, allowing her to mass produce them once a template for them was designed. While they all look the same, an adept magic user is able to tell them apart.

These conjured bodies have a number of abilities, the most prominent being a number of spell formulas encoded into the body, allowing them to cast from their library of spells without incantation. They also come with a personal hammerspace on their legs that takes the place of pockets. Lastly, the bodies also store the bulk of their mana pools. Should their body be destroyed, or they switch to a body with a smaller capacity, then they will lose the excess mana and would have to replenish it when they get a new body or switch back.

Their ranks also include human and demihuman mages who wear clothing to match the conjured bodies. The number of gold straps on their arms displays their rank within the order, with the black straps acting as placeholders. The head of the order wears a golden mask.

A while ago, I got the idea for Lilly to have a bunch of faceless magic users to do her bidding. Lilly is a powerful sorceress, but there is a limit to what she can do on her own, so she would need enchanters and other mages to help her with the numerous tasks necessary to develop and maintain her growing empire.

I got the idea from the Druids from Voltron: Legendary Defender, who all wore masks and were shrouded in mystery. There was a theory they were energy beings, but that seems to have been debunked by season 7. Still, I did enjoy the idea of energy beings giving shape like that. I was reminded of Graffiti Kingdom, and how the bosses became these ghost things after you defeated them and seemed to be waiting for new bodies to be made for them.

Naturally, since this is Lilly we are talking about, I went with a latex theme. There are other bodies the glimmes can use, but I'm starting with just this one. Like with a video game, they all look the same so they don't have to program unique bodies for each of them. It also allows for a stock of replacement bodies.

This had been sitting in my sta.sh for a while, as I posted a different image for the Chadron. I was saving this for a character bio, but with Eclipse that isn't as important and I had computer issues all last week, so I didn't have anything ready, so I figure why not.
