Pictured here is a soldier of the Iron Brigade from the US Civil War. Their distinct Hardee hats set them aside from other federal regiments. Once they earned a ferocious reputation amongst rebel troops, the "black hat" became a symbol of their battle prowess. This American Shepherd actually carries an imported Austrian Lorenz rifle as his primary weapon, instead of the more common issued US Springfield model. Most imported Austrian muskets were used in the Western Theater, but the 2nd and 7th Wisconsin regiments of the Iron Brigade were some of the few to receive them while serving in the Army of the Potomac.

Been quiet for a long while on here... I'll be posting some of the art projects I did last year soon. This year I plan on focusing on some of my personal projects more and plan on doing regular updates. Keep an eye out.
