Avataaaaar! Sokka was my favorite character since the very first episode, and it's about time that he got to kick some ass! He don't need none of that fancy schmancy "bending" nonsense. No, not him! Sokka solves his problems with nothing but his keen wit and the sweat on his brow! Whatta man!I was kind of confused about the timespan of the fourth episode though. Did Sokka become a swordsmaster, and Iroh turn into a hulking behemoth, in like, three days or something?

Sokka is way up there on my favourite-list as well.
He can be goofy and sarcastic, but he also has his dark, serious moments.
Plus, he totally kicks ass without bedning, simply relying on brains and BOOMERAAAAANG!!!

Yes bending is for wimps, though I think Sokka would've made a kick ass escrimador(one who trains in escrima) . I mean he already knows how to wield dual weapons, so why not just give him a ginunting(short sword), daggers, escrima sticks and some empty hand training. The thought Sokka dispatching enemies like Jason Bourne would be priceless.

To put it bluntly, bending is a spiritual thing (not genetic) and considering the way Sokka feels towards bending, it will never happen. It's exactly why all of the Air Nomads were benders. They detached themselves from worldly constraints and lived in harmony with their surrounding. Besides, Sokka makes great comic relief

I always wondered why he couldn't if his sister could... I always wished that in the last episode, he would epically save one of his friends by unknowingly bending.. Oh well.

He doesn't bend because it wouldn't be challenging enough to kick everyone's asses then. You gotta give people at least the impression that they stand a chance, otherwise it's just no fun.

yeah me too sokka was my fave from the start, he reminds me of usopp , (both characters are my favorites). i always like that type of character ya know they are funny and silly yet they have a good heart and always try to keep up with the monster like powers of teh heros around them. in most shows that type of character never has their day. however in one piece and avatar , both usopp and sokka seem to be catching up to the strength of their heroic friends. their strang hearts is the reason why they made it this far and the reason why they will keep on fighting the good fight.

It's about time Sokka got a chance to shine. Season 3 Sokka's whupping some serious butt.

As long as Sokka collects many heart containers and keeps his bottle full of potion and fairies Sokka will become king by his own hand.
