Right into Battle for the Pride Lands, as they continue to defend the Pride Lands from Scar and his army, Kion, the Lion Guard, and Sanura have grown into teenagers overtime while, Kopa has started approaching adulthood. After the last battle where Kion uses the now more powerful Roar of the Elders to blast Scar’s army back into the Outlands, Simba appears with Rafiki.

SIMBA (congratulating): Well done, Kion, Lion Guard, Kopa, Imani.

ONO: Your Majesty.

KION (thankful): Thanks, Dad.

KOPA: Same as well, Dad.

IMANI: Thank you, Your Majesty.

RAFIKI: Kion, the Lion Guard, and Kopa are growing up. And Kion's Roar is more powerful than ever.

SIMBA: Yes. That’s true.

KION (noticing the look on Simba’s face): Dad? What is it?

SIMBA: You and the Guard have proven you can defend the Pride Lands. But it hasn't stopped Scar's army. (Walking to the bordering hill overlooking the Outlands with the Outlands Volcano on the other side before looking back the group) We need a change in strategy. I say, we take the fight with Scar into the Outlands.

Kion, the Lion Guard, Kopa, Imani, Anga, and Jasiri cannot believe what they just heard. Jasiri and Anga both gasp with astonishment.

ONO: Hapana.

BESHTE: No way.

KOPA: I can’t believe it.

IMANI: Me either.

FULI: Seriously?

BUNGA: ‘Bout time if you ask me.

SIMBA: It is time. Time to defeat Scar and his followers. Once and for all.

KOPA: Agreed. Besides, Scar is such a real creep.

KION: Dad, even if we defeat Scar’s army, we don’t know how to defeat Scar himself.

KOPA: I wouldn’t be so sure, Kion. While we are getting things ready, I do happen to know a way on how we can defeat Scar. So, Hakuna Matata, little brother.

SIMBA: Your big brother Kopa is right, Kion. Without his followers, Scar will be powerless and we can have peace in the Pride Lands once again.

JASIRI: We can help too, Your Majesty. My Hyenas know the Outlands better than anyone.

SIMBA: Thank you, Jasiri.

KION: Well… I guess if everyone who respects the Circle of Life helps us…

RAFIKI: Yes! Yes! Everyone can help!

KION: Right. (Turning to the Lion Guard, Kopa, and Imani): Lion Guard, Kopa, Imani, we need everyone who’s willing to fight.

FULI: I’ll get the Crocs and the Antelopes.

BESHTE: I’ll talk to the Elephants and Rhinos.

ONO (standing next to Anga): Anga and I will assemble the Birds.

KOPA: Imani and I will get her family and the Lionesses.

BUNGA: And I’ll get the Galagos.

FULI (looking at Kion with a little irritation and confusion): Galagos?

KION (as he and the others head off to assemble the Pride Landers): I know what you’re thinking. But if we’re invading the Outlands, we’ll need all the help we can get.
