Description
Last Tuesday night I got an EXTREMELY bad cold. I was basically bed ridden all week with a fever and sniffles, (though I did manage to keep up with the Hanukah candle celebration). I really wanted to work on my Christmas MAP part animation that I'm sketching in TV Paint, though I just did not feel up to drawing.... So I just watched some intro Blender tutorials to get back into my good old 3D Software.
I use to be really active with Blender a while back though I haven't touched it in years, so I wanted a refresher rather than just jump right into it. Also Blender Guru has a VERY nice tutorial here with all the basics you need to just jump right in! I even learned some new things I wasn't aware before even in my past experience. (Though most of the time I was just going "Aaaaahhhh yes. 'E' to extrude. Hummmmm. Nostalgia." And other stuff like that. Reusing the old interface just feels like home.)
As you can see... I made a donut. I actually biased it off a year old donuts I still have in my fridge. (I always meant to take a photo of it, it's so sparkly.) Fun fact, I have that LEGO Mug IRL too. Sitting right next to me actually.
Anyway, I do recommend this tutorial if you would like to learn Blender!

They are also coming out with a new Blender interface for 2.8 very soon. (The beta is out now though it's rather glitchy I hear.) At first glance I was kinda unhappy as well... I like my Blender. It reminds me of my LEGO days when I would go on the galleries and my friends would all be making renders and tutorials on how to make Ninjago themed blends and yeah.... However after seeing Blender Guru's into to the new UI I am EXCITED FOR IT!!!!! Also I must make a render of an Eevee in EEVEE... I must.
Also the community rejoices on left click to select!!!!! Rejoices I tells you....
Anyway, enjoy the donut. I've been staying up till 3am in the mornings relearning good old Blender and such. I mainly hope to use it for rotroscoping in TV Paint for my traditional animations. More on that later.
Godspeed,
~MO
