I'm doing an art project for school in pencil and it's a portrait of Lee Pace. How on earth do you draw stubble?? I've practiced drawing his mouth/chin and it looks awful.

The shading and detail in this is wonderful. One of your best works. Those eyes just look right into you and make you want to stare back.
Great job, and keep up the great work!

What kind of pencils are you using, anyway? mechanical, some darker pencils?

ahaha...yeah I lost my mechanical pencils a long time ago, even though they were fantastic to draw with..
So winter break we need to have art days/juggling/henna or whatever. Lol.

Yeah we do! Especially since your people skills far surpass mine. I like drew that one portrait to get back into the swing of things and then tried to work on my double portrait and my brain exploded...lol
And I usually always end up using a 2b anyway....LOL

Haha really? I'm still not even sure how to use the b's and f's and what not. I understand they have different levels of wax in them which makes them more or less hard to blend... but I still have no idea when to use them, so I don't XD
if you are interested, this guy has some awesome tips that I have been using the last year or so... [link]

The only difference (in the bs, at least) are in the number. 2b is regular, 4b is darker, 7b is really dark, and so on.
