Get rid of the shadow of the planet on the space behind it. If you really punch out the depth of the space, as it it is an endless mass, and not an image layer behind the eyelids, the image will become much stronger. Having the shadow from the eyelid onto the planet, helps create the effect of depth, but the way the space is behind it makes it look like a marble on a painted surface.
To me, having the eye open out into an endless mass would really push the visual metaphor. This would help take an already striking image and make it dazzling. I hope this helps!

Very nice work on this! And although I understand the concept behind it, I think it might look better if the actual face of the person wasn't as visible... or maybe if it were a drawing, for some reason the photo part takes a lot out of it. That may just be me though.
Your color scheme was also interesting, I don't usually see universes done in yellow/green like that.

I think when I originally stumbled across the stock image it came to me. I actually liked the fact that it was that close up and that it took a step back to actually notice the eye lashes and then figure it out. Thanks for your comment Dr.

Ah xD Like I said, it may just be my bias, I'm not usually big on eye shots. But I'd love to see if the universe bit was ever done as a standalone piece!

That's really cool in a creepy kind of way. At first glance I'm fascinated by a an entire universe within an eye... then I start thinking about a person walking around with an eye like that, lol.
