Description It was weird.

Let me explain.
If often see big high structures as living things. Like constructed animal, made of steel, paint, glass, and so on. Even more those like that. A kind of duality between lightness and heaviness, dynamic and static. A giant with rock feets, who's been forced to stay forever at the same place, tickled by tourists, his rust wounds healed by paint.

bored.

A feeling that it was stepping over me, like if i was in the wrong place. I guess that it's the wide angle that just add that effect (actualy i'm pretty sure), still, i wonder how it'd look if suddenly it comes to life. Step after step, walking in the grass, passing over the Seine, climbing to the Trocadero 'till the Arch of Triumph. Stopping for a while, quietly looking over him, slowly. Then, proudly going to the Champs ElysΓ©es, finding a way out, in the middle of screaming people, of evacuated streets, and so on...

just for a view...

Oh wow, I'm in love with this angle.

Most people don't tend to get this... photographically adventurous with the Eiffel Tower, but you've managed to make it interesting.

Thanks ! And well, it's just that i'm trying to add some background to the view i'm showing with text, even more when it imply so dynamic, some movement and so on For the vignetting and hue/tone, it's mostly because of them that the sky appear as it is, and *reveal* some detail, some mood also, still, happy that you like it

MissAveryLouise [2007-11-28 01:41:34 +0000 UTC]

very interesting angle, love it, its not the one we see to much, it almost takes a second glance to realize what it is...

also the sky is beautiful, and i love how the structure is slightly silhouetted against it

lastly as an architecture student i find your connection between such intricate structures to living breathing creatures fascinating

great work! all around

matam In reply to MissAveryLouise [2007-11-28 10:17:47 +0000 UTC]

ok, i admit, it could seem a weird view on things, but somehow, that's it. Nothing is static. Each structure is moving, each and everytime, even if we can't notice it. Even more now that modern structures dont fight against movements, but adapt themselve to them, in a "natural" way (like skycrappers & wind, building & earthquake & terretrisal movement, and so on). (or maybe it's my industrial design background that make me say so).
And i prefer to look at things in a more poetic ways, living along giants made of steel, glass, peacefully looking at us, dreaming of far, far away lands....

thanks a lot for you comment!
