Description
The church of St John in the New Town of Prague was built in 1730-38 in Bohemian radical Baroque style by K. I. Dientzenhofer , one of the greatest architects of that time. It is notable for its dynamic and beautifully decorated western facade with two towers and a stairway, standing high above the street.I painted this picture as a front cover illustration for a booklet about this church which I made as a commission for the municipal government.

No jo, on stojí na takovám místě, že leckdo si ho možná ani pořádně nevšimne, i když třeba jezdí kolem tramvají. A přitom sám o sobě je hrozně zajímavý (ale dovnitř se dá dostat jenom málokdy).

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. It is fairly difficult to take a photo of this church, because it is quite high and there is not much space in front of it. So it was not easy to choose (and implement) the perspective for this picture.
