Description The Great East Road is a road which ran from west to east through The Shire and the whole Eriador. It was originally laid by the Dwarves probably during the First Age, and ran from the Iron Hills through Rhovanion to Khazad-dûm, from which it continued across Eriador to the Blue Mountains, and then on into Kingdom of Doriath in Beleriand.
When the Númenórean realm-in-exile of Arnor was founded, the Arnorians took over the maintenance of it and built several fortresses on or near it (including Weathertop). After Arnor was divided, the Great East Road formed the boundary between two of its successor states, Cardolan and Rhudaur.

On this picture you can see a travelling party of dwarves on the Great East Road near Weathertop.

A beautiful landscape once again. ^ ^
Is all of it watercolours? I'd swear I can see pencil marks on the hillside and some of the background...

Oh, my mistake! I copied part of the description from another deviation (I think it was Dor Dínen ) and forgot to change the technique. Of course it's watercolour pencils this time, with parts of is "watered" and other parts not.
