Description
A new cover freshly finished for the writer Michelle Erickson and her Sarah cycle. You can find the other covers I did on this cycle in my gallery. While I preferred the blue version, the client choose to go with a warmer version and the third illustration is the one that went through. I have to say the work on the crystals was 1000 times harder to do than the character itself and I tried three different techniques on the three layers of crystal formations (fourth if you consider the heart itself) which included custom brushes, different layer fx and quite a lot of painting and adjusting. I have to confess I kind of stumbled through this work as I never painted crystals to such a scale.
