I admire how this drawing is well balanced The trees and drawn just in the best places and in the appropriate detail, so that it doesn't look messy or too dark. The focus is still on the scout and army and the high mountains greatly give it the serious accent of high magnitude
It's a nice coincidence, I'm reading a book where a small group of soldiers is hiding in woods from a huge army around them And there are signal towers too, playing very important role

I'm still playing with pencil gradients. Not having a classical art education I kind of get to experiment trying to find the best results.
