i really like the idea, but personally i think you just have to express yourself..see, i would do it by hand, in charcoal because it's what seems to be the best way for me..i would give the person's shape more detail, but wouldnt fill in anything and i would make the curls thicker so they looked more real, but i wouldn't shade them because they (in actuality) arent real, but just my perception. would you mind if i used this design for a charcoal drawing, actually, and linked back to you?
