I normally don't comment on pages because I can't say with any certainty that I know what I'm talking about... save for one thing...

The ease of understanding action through visual storytelling.

I think you did an EXCELLENT job, I read this page and understand exactly what's happening with one look-through, which (in my opinion) is how action SHOULD work in sequential art. If it's a fight or an action sequence it shouldn't take more than a few seconds and glances to understand exactly what happened.

Edit: I realize after this big huge rant that you did the colors and someone else did the pencil and inks, but I think that you did your part very well too, which adds to the ease of readability of this page. Like the batarangs' impact in the last frame being highlighted in yellow against an all-red background helps the readers' focus be drawn there first and then back to Batman who just threw them. Excellent stuff!

A lot of comics that I've read have wonderful poses and excellent art, but I have to take 30 seconds to understand how four frames are placed on a page! It should be like theater AND art. Putting together a page isn't just about how fantastical it looks, it should also be about HOW your reader is affected by it.

I feel like part of what keeps comics isolated from mass appeal is the lack of trained readers. The "bedazzling" comics are easily read by people who read comics all the time, but someone who doesn't read them often is less likely to enjoy reading a disorienting comic.

I'm sorry for ranting but my point is, I really like this page. I think it is superbly done. To give an example of what I'm complaining about, here's a [link] . It's great, nothing outstandingly wrong with it, and I'm sure in-context it makes a whole lot more sense... but just trying to figure out what the action is takes way too long in comparison to your page here. I was looking at my messages and I saw that one first, and then I saw yours right after it, and the difference was way too jarring. I just HAD to say something. Anyways, I love it and I'm a huge fan of Batman, great stuff!

Thank you for your words, you're right, it isnt just looks fantastical, we have to make the reader understand and feel the whole page and story too.

BTW, you should take a look at Rafael Albuquerque's page and comment there too! Seems like you really enjoyed the lines! Hahahah!

Yes I did enjoy it, but I'm having trouble finding a link to Rafael's page... could you send me a link so I can comment on his work? I'd like to tell him how much I enjoyed his work.
