Description

Hawk, fairy Swarmkeeper ranger.

I created Hawk for an evil onshot (which is turning into at least a twoshot), but he's not actually evil aligned, just a chaotic neutral delinquent. He's mainly wanted for "immoral behaviour" (you know, things like illegal possession and consumption of alcohol and drugs, premarital sex and adultery, disturbance of the peace, vandalism, etc). He's also just a foot tall!

I decided pretty early on that I wanted both Hawk and his swarm to be tarantula hawk wasps, and the colours of his armour and wings are actually picked from a photo of an actual tarantula hawk wasp. It took some doing to paint the armour the way I wanted it to look, but I'm happy with where it ended up! His legs were also a bit of a pain to draw, and his feet didn't end up quite the way I wanted, but I still like how they turned out.

His bow was an entire fucking nightmare to draw! That slight angle was a Bad choice. It looks alright, but it's not entirely correct...

I painted the wasp for the swarm myself, but the legs still gross me out a bit lol. And while a tarantula hawk wasp is pretty, they're both a little scary and kind of gross in how huge they are! 5cm long, and with the world's most painful sting.
