[Lore]Since oblivion didn't originated in the au no one knows for sure what type of monster he is, although gaster is already aware of his true nature which explains why he wanted to get rid of oblivion in the first place. But it wasn't an easy task for gaster, knowing that the parasite hates him more than anyone else is a problem so gaster gave papyrus a special device that can contain this beast temporarily so it won't cause any catastrophic events.
