Description HISTORY:

His father was the original. The beast born from a woman long ago in the 1700s. His father had been banished and abandoned by everyone, left to wander the Pine Barrens for hundreds of years. All he longed for was company, and it often drew him into a rage. Finally, after centuries of fighting to find someone, he stumbled upon a woman camping along. She was a scientist, looking for the mythed Jersey Devil.  She had a soft face, hair black as night, and eyes that lit up the world. Even the beast could see that she was beautiful. He approached the woman, showing her that he was not there to cause harm. She was wary of him, but over the next weeks, she found a light under the beast skin.

Their story was a true story of Beauty and the Beast. They fell in love, built a small cabin where no one would find them, and lived. For once, the Jersey Devil found peace.
They stayed in peace, until the woman was with child. The child was born on the night of a New Moon in the first month of spring. Yet, like his mother, his eyes lit up the world. For a second time, the Beast fell in love. A son, which he never thought he would have, became his world, while the woman was his sky.

That was where Alwyn's story really started. He was brought into a cruel world that could not see the beauty in the most unusual things. Not that he knew that yet. No, it would take him sixteen years to learn how cruel people really were.

For those sixteen, oblivious years, he wandered the forest, learning about life and the creatures around him. His father taught him to fly, while his mother taught him to read. His father showed him how to find food and build a fire, while his mother taught him to write and draw. It was all perfect for him. He wanted nothing else, and needed nothing more.

Then, on the morning of the first day of winter, yelling and shouts echoed through the forest. Gun shots roared. Alwyn didn't understand. These were sounds, and scents, he had never been exposed to before! While he was afraid, he was also curious, and tried to follow the sounds. He followed as the noisy humans ventured towards his home where his mother and father rested.

Then he heard it. The blood-chilling scream from both his mother and father. Fear shot through his spine and he froze. He didn't know what to do. Then again, another scream, this time only the animalistic one of his father. Finally, his legs thawed and he bolted towards the cabin, tears of fear burning at his eyes.  Smoke started to burn at his nose, and he saw his father flying through the trees over head.
"Papa!" He called. His father stopped and hovered for a moment, his red eyes meeting Alwyn's. Alwyn could see blood dripping from his father's chest and arms. Before he could say another word, his father flew off, leaving a bloody trail.

Alwyn was confused and scared. Why was he leaving? Where was mother?

He turned and ran towards the cabin once again. By now, the smell of smoke was strong, and he soon found out why.
The cabin was up in flames. Alwyn let out a screech of terror and ran towards the building. He looked through the broken window, calling for his mother. He fell silent, with only the fire roaring, when he saw her lifeless inside, surrounded by flames.

Rage. Alwyn was soon engulfed by the emotion he had never felt before. He quickly found the human's footprints and started to follow them.

It didn't take him long to catch up, and he quickly regretted his decision. The humans, though he was larger than most of him, knew how to fight and had weapons. They quickly shredding his wings to lace, docked his tail, and almost skinned his back. Then left him for the buzzards.

Somehow, Alwyn survived his experience. When he was strong enough, he started wandering. He had no hope to find his father. He had no hope to find a friend. He just wanted to live. That was all.

Winter passed and turned into spring.

He was far from home by now, and in a dense forest he did not understand.

Drum like beats reached his ears. He frowned as he listened to them. They were strong and steady and in groups of three. What would make that sound? Alwyn was curious. He walked slowly towards the direction that the sound was coming from.

Then there was crashing of branches as a large black beast stormed into a nearby clearing. The beast slowed to a stop and a smaller creature slid off of the black creature.
Alwyn was in awe. The black beast was large, and had a face similar to his fathers, even with the red eyes. There was something familiar in that hard, beastly face of the creature. It drew Alwyn out and towards the clearing. The sun touched him, bringing warmth to his cool body as he approached the Black beast.
The creature snorted and stomped, baring large fangs. He flinched back slightly, but still yearned to touch the creature's familiar face.
"Sauron!" The feminine voice broke Alwyn's daze and made him flinch away as the female creature put herself between him and the Black Beast. The beast snorted and roared as he stomped. Then the woman turned. Her face was similar to that of the Bobcats Alwyn had seen in his home forest. But she was not a bobcat. She was more human than that. Some hybrid or beast like him?

Her eyes were bright, and made Alwyn feel slightly less frightened. She cocked her head at him, then offered a smile.
"Well, hello there!" She purred to him.
"Who might you be?" She asked as she looked down at him as he cowered away from her. He stayed silent as he just looked at her with one eye. She reached out to touch his shoulder, and he hid is face as tears of fear burned at his eyes again.
Her hand was warm as it was placed on his naked back.
"Oh, honey. You're freezing," the warm hand vanished and Alwyn peered back out as he heard her walking away. She walked to the black Beast and pulled something off of his back. It looked like a pack, but when she unbound it, it rolled into a blanket. She quickly approached him again, making him hide his face. She threw the blanket over his shoulders, making him squeak, startled.
The female creature only purred to him.
"Poor thing, you are just a child, aren't you?" he felt her hands run over his hair and touch his small, stubby horns.
He felt her kneel down next to him and put her arm around him.
"What happened to your family?" She asked.
Alwyn sniffled as the memory, still fresh in his mind, pushed forward again. The Female clinched her jaws as she understood his wave of emotion. She could see tears streaming down his nose and towards the ground.
She stayed silent for a moment, allowing Alwyn to collect himself once again.
"I'm Kaia..." She said softly. Alwyn finally peered back at her with one, wet eye.
"I...I-I'm... Alwyn," He choked out softly. She smiled at him and ran her hand over his head again.
"Y-you won't... h-hurt me... w-will you?" Alwyn finally asked, sniffling again.
Kaia only smiled and her gaze softened.
"No, honey. I will help you,"
