The guard acted as a domestic security and military police force on the Galactic Republic's capital planet, responsible for such tasks as the protection of VIPs and guarding its prisons.
Fox was fiercely loyal to the Galactic Republic, and later the Galactic Empire. However, failure of communication would meet his downfall. When shock troopers of the Coruscant Guard attacked Darth Vader during an operation to secure the Jedi Temple from fugitive Jedi, Vader held Fox personally responsible and executed him.
