Hi mylifeits - 'triceps surae' did not know that. Makes sense lateral and medial gastrocnemius plus soleus equals three - sūra means calf.

And I didn't know sura means calf Thank you for that. Maybe it's also interesting to know the insertion of the medial and lateral collateral ligament. For medial it's per anserinus superficialis, for lateral caput fibulae. Ugh sorry, getting too deep down on stuff. May I ask what inspired you to get into anathomy?

Hi Again - didn't know that either re: caput fibulae etc. Why did I get into anatomy? mainly for art reasons - reduce the amount of guess work when drawing figures.
Be able to draw figures from imagination and from life. If you know what you are looking at then that helps (hopefully)
and also its just interesting, the mechanics of it.
