This shot is great, the lighting is fantastic.
The tonal range in the background of the photo is excellent. Without this tonal range I feel that the image would be very flat. The Blue in the background also allows it be very authentic.
The composition is very interesting. It a very unique style that I feel has actually been very successful.
The detail in the face is very good and I love the fact that the beak is open.
The only thing I am going to criticize in the frame. I dont think it works well. What I could suggest is just vignetting. And maybe a white frame as this would give the picture a better definition.

I used some vignetting, but I thought the frame would finish it up... I made it black because I think it contributes to image much more than a white frame (usually I'm not a big fan of frames at all, but in that case I found that the image was missing something without it). Getting a DD brought me a lot of recognition, so it was pretty awesome
