Just tried it in my copy of blender, seems to work fine. Β Are you using a recent version of blender? Β (2.7+)?

Yes, the textures for the pillar of Autumn aren't working and then the Frigate won't show up on anything but the render, I am a bit of a noob with Blender but my tutor showed me that the textures on that were transparent for some reason.

I'm trying to use this with Element 3D on After Effects, but I'm not sure the textures are compatible, since I know it doesn't accept .Tiff files

Try searching online for ways of converting tiff to png or another AE acceptable format. Β There are even some websites that'll convert it for you.

What program are you trying to load the model into? Β And what model gave this error?

Hm.. I'm not sure, they work fine for me in most programs. Β Maybe try importing it with a different version of XNAlara and see if that works?

When I try to load it into xnalara, it gives me an error saying the Paris bitmaps folder contains no mesh file.
Is there a fix to this?

Mattpc In reply to Kozakuu [2013-10-21 16:16:56 +0000 UTC]
Try moving the .obj file into the bitmap folder and opening it that way.

Kozakuu In reply to Mattpc [2013-10-21 20:53:06 +0000 UTC]
Didn't work unfortunately. Now it says it can't open the .mtl file.

Mattpc In reply to Kozakuu [2013-10-21 22:27:19 +0000 UTC]
Is the MTL file in the same folder as the OBJ?
π: 0 β©: 1
Kozakuu In reply to Mattpc [2013-10-22 20:20:22 +0000 UTC]
No, the .obj is in the bitmaps folder and the .mtl is outside of it

Mattpc In reply to Kozakuu [2013-10-22 22:35:05 +0000 UTC]
Ok, try moving the mtl into the same folder, I think the obj and mtl should always stay together.

I know right! The only shots of them in Halo 4 were pre-rendered, so there is not chance of extraction either. Hopefully they'll be added to a Spartan Ops mission in the future.

Maybe, but I heavily doubt it... There were a crapton of retcons in 4.

Perhaps, though the only major one I can think of is the FOD having a new design though having drifted for four years. But other then that, everything is correct.

Eh. Sudden uniform change for UNSC, FUD having new equipment everywhere (new hogs, Battle Rifles D and then you've got the new UNSC vessels- several Charon class frigates that suddenly got retconned, but the biggest, most irritating retcon is the one in the prologue where suddenly, every spartan is wearing Chief's Mark VII armor- I mean what in the hell..? The books set it up that the gear uses some kind of nanotech machinery to update and maintain itself- and I was willing to buy that explanation for Chief suddenly having a new suit of MJOLNIR, but then... Like, every SPARTAN-II in that cutscene, was wearing Mark VII. To boot, Mark VI armor in multiplayer (Which technically is canon now) looks WAY different- specifically in the chest and Mark V has been utterly retconned out by the CGI cutscene. Not to mention -how- Chief got Cortana, I do not recall that being the method in the books.
The FUD thing irritates me endlessly personally.
In truth, I have lots of beefs with Halo 4 and as a long time Halo fan it truly hurts to say that. By all means though, the game is still quite good and its campaign, story wise, is still very much classic Halo.
...Though I still fail to understand how a single missile from a frigate took out a CCS class battlecruiser...

Remember also that Halo 4 takes place 4 years after Halo 3, a lot can change in that time. The prologue videos clips aren't meant to show that all spartans have that armour, just as a metaphor that they are all spartans like Chief. (Cause in reality, every spartan has different armour. It's much easier to make a video with them all wearing an armour set we are familiar with then randomized armour sets.) With Chiefs armour being different then the GEN2 Mk.6, well that's an easy one. Cortana most likely based Chiefs upgrades off of existing armour blueprints made at the time. However with modifying an existing suit (Chief) and making a new one (Mk.6), you are bound to have differences, especially because Cortana is using 4 year old blueprints.
I have to admit the FUD thing is annoying, but you can see why they did it. Instead of having to go and model/update the H3 ship, they could just use the H4 models they already made for the 10 seconds you see the ship.
Have you looked at the Infinity? That thing is more powerful than more than half the covenant ships. And weapon designs and stuff has greatly improved since H3, especially with the UNSC implementing Forerunner Tech into the stuff.

CaptainLackwit In reply to Mattpc [2012-12-14 23:10:47 +0000 UTC]
I hadn't thought of that metaphor- though I'm not sure how accurate that is due to the fact that we're so used to the idea that he was different- exactly -why- he was picked by Cortana in the first place.
I do like the new suit. It doesn't feel very... MJOLNIR, to me though, honestly. It looks like the Nanosuit and MJOLNIR had a cool kid but it doesn't... Mesh, well, IMO.
I guess, yeah. Still... Why go through that trouble for DLC, then?
The infinity is honestly my favorite piece of tech from Halo 4. Feels UNSC, and has greatly advanced stuff on it. It's cool as hell. Not too big on the Pelican suddenly becoming a Space Hind, though.

Possibly, though the file lists it as a Stalwart class. I'll have to look up the ship designs and confirm.
