Sorry for being so absent the past few months. University has had me up to my neck with work as I try take one step closer to finishing my physics degree. Unfortunately I haven't had time to do much artwork in that time
. Just to show you that I'm not dead, here's a photo of my first tattoo that I had done during Reading Week in February. Tool has been, and continues to be, extremely important influence in my life in terms of my musical development and motivation for how I want to pursue life ("Push the envelope. Watch it bend."). I couldn't think of any better way to commemorate that than having a piece of Alex Grey's work from my favourite album. I know it's not exactly an original tattoo but I still love it.
This picture was taken the evening I had it done (February 17). I'll try to get a healed photo up sometime soon as well.

it's perfect, even not healed. i love it. and the colors pop so well. he did a fantastic job. i feel the same about Tool btw. has always spoken to my heart and soul

Hey I'm planning on getting a custom sleeve done by Dave. How was your experience with him?

He was fantastic. I guess this picture isn't very close so you can't see as much detail, but his lines are really clean and smooth and his colours are vibrant and blend really well together; his technique is great. This isn't a custom design, of course, so he pretty much just recreated the Alex Grey piece I brought in, so I can't really help you there. Take a look at his gallery on their website, though. I can also tell you he's just a really cool guy and really easy to work with. I'd definitely recommend him!

"As below so above and beyond I imagine, drawn beyond the lines of reason." TOOL = amazing. This tattoo is pretty freaking awesome too. Did it hurt? I imagine there would be some pain but probably not too much.

Push the envelope watch it bend.
It hurt a little bit, but not really that much. It was a little uncomfortable when he was going right over bone but it wasn't too bad. It mostly felt like someone was just scratching with something pointy for a really long time.
