He's got a point; if I had his track record, I'd be worried too.

Naruto seems to be a firm believer in Murphy's Law whenever something good happens to him, can't blame him for that considering the shit he's been going through for most of his life.

At least Naruto can recognize the pattern. Now he just needs to get strong enough to beat the living daylights out of any annoying schmuck that would dare intrude upon his happiness and attempt to plunder his future.

I can see how he would think that, but I think that the best thing to do here is to enjoy all the great stuff that's happened recently.

Usually a good slap on the head and calling Naruto an idiot would solve this but in this case he's right to be worried. After living the first twelve years of his life in misery he's afraid that one misstep or mistake will drag him down to where he began.

Jiraiya totes got better from... being stabbed and then drowning in a lake. Falling so far that Kabuto couldn't recover him for Zombie Apocalypse no jutsu.

I have heard of this. It's sometimes called Cherophobia. It is developed when a person suffers a traumatic event soon after a joyous one. They associate the good feeling as cause for something bad.

With the way events have been going, hard to blame him. It makes a guy irrational and paranoid, always waiting for the other shoe.

The good things in his life have always come with an expensive price, yeah. The best thing in his life is coming up, and he remembers everything prior to that, and he is afraid for what might happen if he suffers another loss. Just might give the Kyuubi his head and let the world burn this time, maybe?

No, Matt has left it behind along with everything that happened in the wake of the Pain Assault, which in his story never happened. It's OK, Matt has hit a number of the important plot points in different ways in his story. However, there is still the chance for a Tobi-Naruto showdown, maybe? And Neji is not allowed to take one for the team this time!

The scars go deep, yeah. Canon Naruto had this BDSM moment when Jiraiya died, and it was why he reacted so poorly to meeting his "imitation" parents in the RTN movie. He's always hated losing precious people, even the ones he's known very briefly...
