Usually a good slap on the head and calling Naruto an idiot would solve this but in this case he's right to be worried. After living the first twelve years of his life in misery he's afraid that one misstep or mistake will drag him down to where he began.

I have heard of this. It's sometimes called Cherophobia. It is developed when a person suffers a traumatic event soon after a joyous one. They associate the good feeling as cause for something bad.

Of course, he might open up and ask his friends and loved ones to help him, for a change. One of the big points of the Fourth Hidden Shinobi War was Naruto having to ask everybody to help him defeat the bad guys instead of still trying to get the win by himself, as usual. "Lean on me", right?

No, Matt has left it behind along with everything that happened in the wake of the Pain Assault, which in his story never happened. It's OK, Matt has hit a number of the important plot points in different ways in his story. However, there is still the chance for a Tobi-Naruto showdown, maybe? And Neji is not allowed to take one for the team this time!

Matt has given Sauske & Naruto some different power-ups so far, which is cool by me. A lot of the canon wartime power-ups are complex & OP. Mainly because they are meant to be deployed against opponents who never heard of OP.
