(Re)Design Exercise
Character: Harley Quinn
Boundries: Arkham Asylum/City series

My half of an exercise with a friend. First time trying something like this and it turned out to be a pretty fun, albeit challenging (which is a good thing, IMO) practice.
Some notes on my thoughts below, but I hope most of the design's pretty obvious because I am going to pick finally getting some sleep over staying up and writing more. Also, brain shutting down.

For the longest time her hair was frustrating the business out of me till it finally occurred to me to do what (I like to think) Harley would do when confronted with an obstacle - just get rid of it. So chop chop, here we are. Bonus: think the short 'do fits her personality, myself.
I've always been a fan of the reflective, opaque lenses most of the masks come standard with, so I wanted to try that out on Harley. Blue because it's didn't seem right to just cover up one of her (IMO) more striking features.
Had earlier tried the sunglasses out as an alternative to the stick-on mask. One lens cracked, because y'know...the whole crazy thing. (Lack of subtlety? I've no idea what you might be talking about...) I liked the idea better in my head - perhaps because I made them look like rubbish on paper.
Is it just me or do thick bands attached to long white sleeves give off a "straight jacket" vibe?

Oh, and the two paw print tattoos? For her "babies" Bud and Lou, of course.

Far right is a sketch of one of the original designs I came up with, just thought I'd include it for funsies.
