My attempt at reimagining Fethry Duck to fit the design language we've seen so far of the new Ducktales show.EDIT: Yes, the official design ended up very similar to this. Yes, similar enough I more than suspect this was an influence. Ah well.

I think they did, but likely on accident- working on a show is a ton of work, and this drawing is one of the first results on google images, it's easy to think a tired designer might've thought this was official art or something

I wish he was in the series, but to be fair (IMHO) they screwed up Gyro so far.

Because he flip-flops on the issue of technological risk-taking and has no depth? Yeah, I liked him until I the past minute when I actually thought about it.

Gyro in the comics actually evolved into interesting character. Someone briliant who can invent pretty much anything but also he always loses his head in process. His kindness is really what makes him special as majority of the people... treat him like garbage because of that. There is (I belive Italian) comic where Gyro turns into SuperVillain because of all those emotions he tried to hide.

That sounds like a description of Fenton, so I can only assume they were trying to keep their personalities distinct from each other.

Maybe, however Fenton wasn't Genious Inventor. Gyro was and his problem with inventions almost never was "robot turn bad" but actual design flaw or overcomplicated life.

I don't wanna complain about the series before season 1 ends but... I think they made Launchpad complete moron without any good qualities. And I think Dewey tried to murder his family last episode... weird.

I don't think Dewey was planning on letting them get away with murder, and him actually wanting to rob them at all is up to interpretation. But yeah, Launchpad seems to have been hit hard with some studio mandated girl-power initiative or something.

I wrote that message at "Spear of Selene" where Dewey decided to crash the plane! After that episode we have great Launchpad subplot in "BUDDY" but sadly... Launchpad in this series serves to two purposes 1) Do stupid stuff 2) Bring Family to exotic locations. There is a reason why he was a woodchuck in Original series... in this one... he's not such person.

We need to hear more from the Coot side of the family, too. Maybe have a part two with the Chinese Toad, who recovered after enslaving Gladstoneβs mother, who is almost as lucky as he is. Dig deep.

Maybe there could be an episode where the Duck family has a big family reunion for the first time in 10 years and all the drama that comes with it. Throw in some old family enemy who wants revenge and you could have some fun. Maybe Fethry and Gladstone think that Della's disappearance is not anyone's fault while other members think not.

From what I've read about Fethry, I honest to god think that Weird Al would be the PERFECTΒ voice for him. Fethry's a lovable, bizarre klutz who gains a new hobby, practically every week, but is essentially Donald Duck's Number 1 Fan/Unofficial Hype man. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he knew how to play the accordion. This design in particular reminds me of a verse in "Everything you know is wrong".Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=KThlYHβ¦
For bonus points, I imagine the "evil twin" in the song as Gladstone.
