I always wanted to do a Fan Art of Gaara from Naruto.One of my favorite characters from the series.
I hated him at first but I soon as the revealed his back story. I almost cried like a little girl.
Sand-sis/Sandstom-ish Background was made using Apophysis.
And Im not too sure if I got Gaara's present wardrobe correctly. Or his childhood clothes for the fact either... -_-
Fun Gaara Facts:
--The name "Gaara" is made up of three Kanji, "Ga" (meaning I or me), "A" (more commonly "Ai" meaning love), and "Ra" (used here to mean a demon). Added together, they can mean "I only love myself. I'm a demon."

Oh, nice a fanart of Gaara, makes me want to read more of Naruto's Manga and working there... apperantly finished reading the 4th volume and say a glimpse of Gaara. Awesome job maverick, I liked the way how you applied the effects and the background.

But anyways, gotta say you've done a real nice pic there Mav, like the way you didn't do any lines except for the thick one on the outline. And I still don't get Apophysis >.< The patterns are pretty, but I have no clue how I'm makin them

AH!! This is so cool!. I was the same way with the character... didn't like him at first, heard his story and fell in love with 'im!! He's my fav character now. I've been wanting to do a fan art with him and naruto together in the pic. I gotta fav this tho.... poor gaara... he didn't deserve any of what he got. *has the sudden urge to pick up the series where she left off*
