Description "Oh hey, you're the new girl right? How do you like the location?"

"Yeah I'm really enjoying it here. Much more pleasant than before. Especially the mint smell."

"Oh yeah the kid always cleans before we arrive. Really nice guy, shame he can't talk to us during work."

An idea that's been in my head nagging at me for a while. Been getting really interested in landscape micro/macro stuff. It looks so cool and I thought I might give something similar a try. The whole idea is a bit shaky, either they're cleaning his teeth or some other construction like work on his teeth, and the this particular guy is very polite with them, brushing, flossing and mouthwash before they come by and maybe leaving them some treats before they work or something.

Awesome! And maybe they are there because they're like medical construction workers, like the ones in his mouth are filling a cavity or something and others somewhere else are setting/fixing a bone or something?

I'm bout sure I have a few ideas but I suppose it depends on the kind of thing you want to go for next. If you want interation next maybe the hand/arm but if you want to keep with the giant theme feet or something on the torso maybe best. I actually just got a cool idea from this, too.

Same here, I just got back into the swing of school after some crazy moving fiasco with my family, so I'm stepping back into my mundane life, though next month is a huge hand schedule release for console games and I just got a PC and Steam already owns my soul after only five days of having it so I know where all my free time is going.

MaverikStorm In reply to PrincessBlaziken [2015-08-26 00:24:10 +0000 UTC]

Oh those might be fun to do! Maybe to Torso next and then maybe hands after. And what's your idea?

Oh man, moving's never fun. Also I know what you mean. when I first got steam I got sucked into it, especially when steam has those sales. Good luck with classes btw!

PrincessBlaziken In reply to MaverikStorm [2015-08-26 00:39:06 +0000 UTC]

Maybe like with what suggested earlier with human medical construction workers there are small human tattoo artists who create really interacted but amazing all around tattoos on Giants, that'd be an interesting concept.

Well, luckily it all worked out and it's not too bad on me at least, I only get what I want and if I can get the console version I'd rather get that over the PC regardless of what people think/say. I prefer controls and there's aesthetic to owning a game box and having it on display. Thank you, and good luck to you too!

MaverikStorm In reply to PrincessBlaziken [2015-08-26 00:57:44 +0000 UTC]

Oh that's a really cool idea! like hyper detailed tattoos and possibly because of their size it wouldn't be as painful to the giants?

That's good. I can understand the desire to have a game on console than computer. Controls are definitely nicer in most aspects. What classes are you taking if you don't mind sharing?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PrincessBlaziken In reply to MaverikStorm [2015-08-26 01:12:50 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, exactly, it would be pretty cool! I'd certainly jump at the chance fore a less painful tattoo, I'm potentially getting my first one later in the years.

Yeah and it seems companies are actually realizing this and headed toward the idea of digital downloads over physical copies, Nintendo seems to be experimenting with a full digital system and that's interesting, it could mean a lot of the software that needs to be put in to run the disc and read it could be put into more storage space and running high quality abd better games, meaning they could be on level with Playstation. I'm mean personally I like cases, I'm a purist like that, but so long as I get a good game and it has a controller I'm fine with a fully digital system. Though I do hope they make something more like their old GameCube controller or the DualShock 4...

Not at all, most just my required things, writing focused classes and then actually on the side I managed to get into drawing. I abso-freaking-lutely suck compare to the others already in there but any step that gets me closer to being a better writer, particularly in terms of comics and creating things, I'll take it.

Sweet!

I am noticing that trend as well. I can only imagine that soon game disks are going to be like VHS's in the next few decades. The non-screen WiiU controller is actually really nice and is kinda like a weird hybrid between xbox and dualshock controllers, though I wish the console actually came with it.

Oh that's cool! And believe me when I know what it's like to compare yourself to the other students. I hope you have fun in those classes and get the most out of it!

PrincessBlaziken In reply to MaverikStorm [2015-08-26 01:47:27 +0000 UTC]

I'm kind of looking forward to it, actually, particularlly if it's Nintendo experimenting with it, they tend to nail these things on the head when they get it right and if anyone is willing to try it they are. Plus I want to see them succeed and get on Sony's level again because if you know anything about gaming history they can do it. I doubt they'd be considered that because even today people go after old retro game boxes and cartridges, they'll probably fall into that category with them. Huh, I should look into getting that then, and that would be s nice bonus if they made a delux Wii U package or something.

I'm sure I will, I'm not letting it get me down and I'll just have to work much harder... I'm actually working on a drawing right now!

That's a good point. Games have a more difficult time being accessed digitally. With old videos some are converted into DVD collections or streamed online. Games are much different and would be rare to see very old ones return without being given a straight reboot or HD version.

Oh cool! Mind if I ask what it is?

PrincessBlaziken In reply to MaverikStorm [2015-08-26 02:18:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, like Final Fantasy 7 just got announced for a full reboot and that games been popular since its release, it's so great people don't even make that big of a deal out of it any more and that is an accomplishment in of itself. If it took them that long to approve such a big project (since almost ever asset need to be created from the ground up) despite that game being so legendary one can only wonder and worry if other gems of games that should be saved will get the same treatment or will fall into sadly forgotten obscurity. It's honestly hard to say because some games have been getting updates but they are fairly modern ones, and while most probably deserve there are others that could use just as much attention and reap a lot more profit for the money put into it.

A character I created a while ago as I am studying anatomy and using various pictures to try a draw him (though a tad cartoonist but I think it suits his design). It's kind of funny because I based him off my dad (who is literally Yukon Cornelius, he looks just like him I swear) but younger and with a few altered features (larger nose, stronger cheekbones, blond hair, a stubble instead of a full beard, I designed him to be Scandinavian and suited for mountains and to carry around a massive-ass ice hammer) but then driven came out and now he looks too much like Kristoff even though I created him WAAAY before Frozen so that kind of pisses me off.

MaverikStorm In reply to PrincessBlaziken [2015-08-26 02:33:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, to a lot of peoples surprise, I've never played it or any other final fantasy character to completion. I tried Final Fantasy X and one for the PSP but not past the first level. The bigger question is how much are they going to change with this game and will it be for the better or worse. It would be cool for other classic games to follow this trend but it's all dependent on if the game franchise is still popular enough or even still alive. Another trend that's happening are spiritual successors where the creators have long since left the company that owns these games and decided to create new games heavily inspired/re-imagined in a way that they have the same feel and style to them like Mighty No. 9 or Yooka-Laylee.

Oh man, he sounds really cool actually. I can understand that kind of rage, though I'd still love to see what he looks like!

PrincessBlaziken In reply to MaverikStorm [2015-08-26 02:58:19 +0000 UTC]

Don't worry, same here. Though I did play a lot of the DS Spinoffs and of Square Enix RPGs. Technically speaking if their doing just a graphical update (like with Final Fatasy 10 (I Think)), it just varies on how much processing you have now and how much you are willing to improve the hand based on graphics, draw-distance, and FPS. But with most games, like Last of Us Remaster, Super Mario 64 DS, and so on they add other feature and fix bugs along with updating graphics but they are really just adding minor things (depending on what it is exactly they are adding, some like Wind Waker HD add a good amount more) normally so it isn't too expensive to put aside more money for programmers to add more, it just gives people more indenture to buy the product for new content you didn't have before. But if you want to go all the way you are essentially creating a new game at that point as, depending on the game, you may have to build it from the ground up like with FF7 (though their FF14 engines do give them a starting point). I mean they wouldn't remake these games unless there is a demand, which for whatever reason publishers seem to be blind to, especially in companies outside of Japan(I WANT MOTHER 3, DAMNIT!). Instead, Spirital Successors in a way do seem to be a safer route as they are new games, and new IPs with old gameplay seems to sell better than old IPs that had that gameplay from the start. Plus creative freedom is a huge factor and is probably even better if you go down the Spirital Successor line. And almost always the game is in good hands because it's the creator whose handling it, the guy who made the originals. I know many games that deserve a re-boot or sequel, as do many others, the issue simply is creating said game well and funding then and convincing people to buy them/marketing.

That's how I think of it at least.

Thanks, I take pride in his design especially! I probably won't post any of my early pictures but eventually when I'm confident enough in my drawings I'll show them.

Very good points. It all depends on what makes money which is why there was/is such a high amount sequels and spin offs to old IPs like Assassin's creed, Final Fantasy, God of War, Legend of Zelda, mario etc. They made money and will keep making sequels as long as they keep making money. Though I'm glad to see were starting to grow into more original ideas and spiritual successors for games that legitimately deserve sequels.

I can't wait! I'd love to see some now but post whenever you're comfortable with it.

PrincessBlaziken In reply to MaverikStorm [2015-08-26 10:25:23 +0000 UTC]

It's just good business practice to make sequels of what's successful so long as the sequel is of good quality (which can be debatable). Most of the time companies deliver these on part of the fans wanting them too, so most of the time everyone is happy. And indeed, it's always nice to see new games getting made with great quality and intention in mind, especially with mechanics and stories that were truely good but just didn't reach popularity back in its time (I mean look at Earthbound, it's huge now and so many RPGs are coming to be in the West because of it and the fact we don't have Mother 3 yet.)

Thanks, though it may be s while before I am comfortable with it.

MaverikStorm In reply to PrincessBlaziken [2015-08-26 15:59:27 +0000 UTC]

I can understand. Game sequels are very profitable and can go into a lot of world building if theres a good story to the games. There just have been times where game sequels are given such different mechanics that it feels more like it was intended to be an original game but put a well known IP on it to be safe. Sometimes its fine though.

yeah take all the time you need

PrincessBlaziken In reply to MaverikStorm [2015-08-26 16:03:41 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I mean that's always the want to expiment and see what works and what doesn't for a franchise and series (Zelda and Zelda 2 come to mind) but you can normally tell when that is. There actually have been accounted cases where a game gets turned into part of a franchise for no reason other than to sell more copies with a familiar name on it. And while some times their fine there are always the ones that were better off a new thing.

Thanks. :3

PrincessBlaziken In reply to MaverikStorm [2015-08-26 18:46:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, and in all honesty it looked to be its own great game before Nintendo bought the company out. There are also things that weren't even meant to be games getting turned into games. Like a GameCube demo was made into Pikmin. Then there are games that just really shouldn't be... Like Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. Rare Kart racer? Sounds amazing. Banjo-Kazooie? Legends. Combining them with only Banjo-Kazooie? Eeehhh... Though it's great to see them back as Playtonic with Yooka-Laylee.

By the way, how's Splatoon been treating ya, you said you bought it a while ago. Nintendo just announced an official soundtrack release for it and I am so excited, I hope it makes it to the west somehow...

Thanks!

By the way, I saw you have a new RP up and have been thinking, maybe you want to start up a new RP since its been a while?

MaverikStorm In reply to PrincessBlaziken [2015-08-26 19:18:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah Banjo-Kazooie is a great and well known game but it doesnt have the fanchise size to have just its own racing game like Mario. Im happy they came together to make yooka-Laylee.

I havent had much time to spend on Splatoon but im excited about the soundtrack amd i hope it gets a western release too

i'd love to start a new one if you want to

PrincessBlaziken In reply to MaverikStorm [2015-08-26 19:32:43 +0000 UTC]

Or it did rather, the cart racer was actually planed years ago during N64 days. That hasn't stopped other from making Kart racers though. Indeed, same with others like Mighty No. 9 and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

That's cool, it really is the kind of game though that you can pop in for at least one match or so. The music is just amazing in the game, they should at least get an iTune downloadable version or something if they can do a physical release in the west.

Awesome! Should we do it with the one you just created or come up with an original one?

It was, there were so many jokes on FF and other things in general, like they categorized the main antagonist in two ways. They are either Darth Vader, or David Bowie. XD

Potentially, some hackers did some digging and found how easy it is to play as an Octoling which would only make sense if Octoling are going to be allowed at some point, other wise it would be so much harder to dig up that data.

It is. :3
