Your drawings remind me very much of the works of my favorite manga author, Hiroki Endo.

Lots of detail, believable/realistic environments, well made textures ... great work!

The backgrounds are inspired by pictures right?

I know his work... when I draw I don't typically look at photography. I know that I've seen lots of cityscapes and lots of photos of them so my memory is already equipped. I found that it looks better if I just create my own composition and rhythm, and then just put in the details from recall, that's not a perfect way to do it, but it gives a signature look.

Woah, well pretty impressive then! I wish our brains were hard drives so I could have a copy of those memories haha. I'm pretty sure that if I tried to do such scenery from the top of my head right now it would seem odd and empty

Now it makes me wonder if M. Endo & his studio use references .. hrm.

A lot of guys use reference, some even trace over it. In the case of someone like Endo, he may have a whole studio of assistants drawing and tracing backgrounds just to keep the manga coming out in schedule, this is actually pretty typical of how the process works. A lot of manga where you see stylized characters with perfectly realistic backgrounds, cars, shoes weapons or whatever, almost like there are two styles at play, it's very much a studio operation using a lot of photography and now CG with assistants drawing supporting material to get that crisp look.

I think Tesla Motors will at least make the name more celebrated, their Model S is probably the most important car on the market today.

Tesla discoveries where way ahead of his time, had his discoveries been allowed into the world... we would've had internet since the dark ages lol

Makes one wonder about assumptions like freedom, progress and democracy... all ideas often theatrically deployed only to candy-coat the thuggery that keeps us in the dark ages in one form or another

Good perspective. Everything is scaled perfectly and it is detailed where it needs to be. The building concept is quite genuine.
