Description I\'m sure it\'ll be about two minutes before a furious kiwi PMs me about my mistake if this isn\'t Mt Tasman! ...but it was two years ago .

I had split my shin open to the bone (15 stitches) so was advised not to hike up the glacier.
The next option was a helicopter, but then you only get a couple of minutes 3/4 of the way up the glacier. They leave the engine on, and they go straight there and back.
The ski plane however, was the priciest option, but you get a playful tour of the peaks and ... most importantly, there was a picture on the wall from about 1930 with some aristocrat, dressed in tweed, smoking a pipe next to his ski plane - it was sold!
So, I took this from a tiny Cessna 185 ski-plane
We then landed on the icefield at the top of the glacier, at about 6000m. SUCH a peaceful place, worth every penny.

Hope you enjoy, I had a great grin while looking through all my photos from Aotearoa last night. I miss it SO MUCH! The people, the land, the art, the wildlife .... maybe I\'ll give Norway a look if I can afford it, I\'ve not been there and it looks wonderful on google earth!

Awesome photo. I wonder if 'furious kiwi' could have been me? Cracks me up none the less. Anywho, I have no idea if it is Mt Tasman or not.

It may be some time. Found out last night that I'm heading out offshore this morning! On the Seacor Canyon. I can't find any info on it. That generally means it's a small boat and doesn't do much - support vessel. This also means it probably doesn't have internet! "No internet!" I hear you scream. What is this world coming to?
