Description

The episode begins with the narrator (Reyna) explaining the legend of Iliani, the Spirit of Love, and her brother Xernax, the Spirit of Hate. The viewers are then taken to three years before Ricky Raptor became the Zeactpher Hero. Ricky is on a camping trip with some of his college friends, (including Chase) when he falls off a cliff and breaks his arm. He stays put while his friends find a way down to help him, but then he is attacked by a monster made out of wood. He runs away, but when he arrives in front of a large mansion, he trips. He is then saved by someone who fires a blast of blue fire which destroys the wood monster. Ricky then loses consciousness as his savior approaches him.

He wakes up in a bed with a young woman sitting beside him. She explains that she had used magic to heal his arm. She is a magician, although she prefers “sorceress”, (because it sounds cooler). She was also the one who destroyed the killer bark earlier. Ricky states he is fortunate then, but the girl says he couldn’t be less fortunate, because the mansion they are in is cursed: It is impossible to leave. She herself had been trapped for two years, although it felt like five. Ricky then tries seeing for himself and discovers that, no matter how far he seems to walk from the mansion, it is still right behind him. He returns to the girl and says he still believes there must be some way out of the mansion, but he won’t look for it unless she comes with him. The girl refuses, so Ricky says he will stay with her. He then asks for her name, and she says it is Shion.

So Ricky stayed with Shion and they kept each other company during their time trapped in the mansion. As time moves forward, Ricky and Shion spend that time doing the things that Shion has been doing: gardening, artwork, playing games (including board games, video games, card games, sports), chores, reading, watching old movies, and so-on. Shion also explains that time moves slower in the mansion than outside, although this does not mean they will age faster. She also explains that it was her grandfather who trapped her in the mansion, as he did not approve of her existence. Still, Ricky continues searching for a way to get both of them out.

As time goes on, Ricky grows closer and closer to Shion until they eventually fall in love. They confess to each other, but Shion is afraid her love is the result of seeing another human being for the first time in so long, but Ricky convinces her that his love is real, and he wants to spend the rest of his life with her outside of the mansion. By the time two months had passed outside the mansion’s grounds, Shion reveals that she can break the curse on the mansion herself, but it will require sacrificing her own life. Ricky rejects, but Shion convinces him that he needs to live-on in the world without her, as he has friends and family that needs him, while she only has him, and she wants the best for him.

After a final, reluctant goodbye kiss, Shion casts the spell to break the mansion’s curse and apparently dies. Ricky leaves the mansion in tears, when it starts raining. He starts running in the night rain, but then he trips…right in front of Kyo…. Meanwhile, Shion awakens to a voice that tells her she has not died yet.

Four years later, Ricky wakes up in his new home that he shares with Jenny, Chase, Amy, and Hikari. He gets out of bed and prepares for a brand new day.

After the credits, Reyna Raptor appears and gives the preview for the next episode.

OK, here it is! The first "episode" of Ricky Raptor Adventures: The Pearl of Light. Once again, I will be uploading a new "episode" once a week, every week, for the next year.

In case you are new, Ricky Raptor Adventures is a series of drawings I have drawn based on an idea for a TV series I've thought about. Each drawing is called an "episode" and comes with a summarized story, based off an idea for an episode for the imaginary TV show. The Pearl of Light is the second "season" of the series. The first "season" was Ricky Raptor Adventures: Rip, Rock, & Roll!
