Description

This is a drawing I made based off an idea for a work of fan fiction that parodies the Justice League of America comic book with characters from the Super Smash Bros. video game. It takes place in the country of Nintendo, a part of the World of Trophies, where all beings are actually trophies created to fight with each other. However, while some trophies are Fighters, most have chosen to be Spectators, who form the building blocks of society in This World. The Fighters, meanwhile, are divided between Enemies who attack others outside of sanctioned fights, and the Players who defend Spectators from the Enemies. Below, I'll share what the first season of this fan fiction looks like.

SEASON ONE

1: Link, Kirby, Samus, Fox, and ROB work together to defend This World from the Space Firebird, and get some help from Nick in the process.

2: Mario, Ash and Pikachu join the Smash Team just in time to save Nick from Armank.

3: Prof. Vector, the former partner of Rob’s creator, creates Fighting Polygon, an android that can mimic any member of the Smash Team, and uses it for nefarious purposes.

4: The team must figure out how to stop the crime spree committed by the Wild Gunman, armed with dark cannon pistols.

5: Mizzo captures the Smash Team so he can force them to do his bidding.

6: The Smash Team help Pit gather the Sacred Treasures and save Palutena from Medusa, and then Pit joins the team.

7: The Smash Team must defend This World from an invasion of Primids.

8: Kammy Koopa brainwashes the Smash Team to help her activate Glice, Glunder and Glire.

9: The Smash Team’s training sandbag comes to life and wants payback against them.

10: Olimar joins the Smash Team after saving them from a case of amnesia caused by Poppant.

11: Bob Cirrus, the Balloon Fighter, tracks down Mizzo and gets help from the Smash Team.

12: Birds are stealing treasures all over Nintendo, so Capt. Falcon and the Smash Team try to trap them, only to be trapped by Auroros. Falcon joins the team.

13: The Smash Team meet the Smash Force (Samus, Pit, Mac, Sukapon, and Tamagon) from the World of Puppets when Kammy Koopa and the King of Devil World join forces.

-----Special: While the Smash Team are in the World of Puppets, Huff N. Puff covers Nintendo in storm clouds. Luigi, Solana & Plusle, Gooey, Falco, and Dark Pit form the N-Force to stop him.

Thank you for reading! Now for a little trivia. For the founding members, Mario is a stand-in for Superman, Link is the stand-in for Batman, Samus for Wonder Woman, Kirby for the Flash, Ash & Pikachu for Green Lantern, Fox for Aquaman, and R.O.B. for Martian Manhunter. I actually imagine Mario, Ash and Pikachu joining the team at the very end of episode one. In most of the League's earliest stories, Batman and Superman mostly made cameos and guest appearances, because they were from DC's two most popular series. So I imagine Mario, Ash and Pikachu being mostly absent for this first season, because they represent Nintendo's two most popular series. Nick (the player character from the Japan-only crossover game, Captain Rainbow) is a stand-in for Snapper Carr.

Later recruits Pit, Capt. Olimar, and Capt. Falcon are stand-ins for Green Arrow, the Atom, and Hawkman. Bob Cirrus (based off the player characters in Balloon Fight) is a stand-in for Adam Strange. The Smash Force is a stand-in for the Justice Society. Although the finale is based off the JLA's first team-up with the JSA, the Nintendo characters I chose here are not one-to-one stand-ins for the DC characters from that story. Instead, they're what I imagine as the SFN's founding members, which again, is not one-to-one to the JSA's founding members. I chose these five as a reference to the '80s crossover cartoon, Captain N: The Game Master, which featured Pit, Mega Man, and Simon Belmont from Castlevania as main characters, while Mother Brain from Metroid, King Hippo from Punch-Out, and the Eggplant Wizard from Kid Icarus are the main villains. I just switched Mega Man and Simon out for Sukapon (from Joy Mech Fight) and Tamagon (from Devil World).

As for the enemies, the Space Firebird is a stand-in for Starr;, Armank is a stand-in for the Weapons Master (for now); Prof. Vector is a stand-in for Prof. Ivo; the Fighting Polygon is a stand-in for Amazo; Wild Gunman is a stand-in for Despero; Mizzo is a stand-in for Kanjar Ro; Primids are stand-ins for Appelaxians; Kammy Koopa is a stand-in for Felix Faust; Glice, Glunder, and Glire are stand-ins for the Demons Three; Sandbag is a stand-in for Dr. Light; Poppant is a stand-in for Amos Fortune, Auroros is a stand-in for Queen Bee; and the King of Devil World is the name I give to The Devil from Devil World, who is a stand-in for the Wizard.

N-Force is a parody of Teen Titans, with Luigi, Solana (& Plusle), Gooey, Falco, and Dark Pit acting as stand-ins for Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, Aqualad, and Speedy, respectively. Meanwhile, Huff N. Puff is a stand-in for Mr. Twister.

Something I didn't mention in the list of episodes is that the Smash Team's headquarters, the Nintendo Clubhouse (a stand-in for Mt. Justice) is located in Port Lucky (a stand-in for Happy Harbor). Many locations from Nintendo-published games, such as Hyrule and the Mushroom Kingdom, are cities in the country of Nintendo. This first season is based off of an assortment of stories from Justice League of America's first five years of publication. I've imagined four more seasons to this fanfic, and I might make drawings based off each of them.
