Brilliant! it seems that the sky was clear and there was no light pollution, right?

how did you keep the shutter open for 12 minutes?
(on a digital rebel, wow!) I thought you could only do this on film, but this one impressed me. Again...how did you keep the shutter open for 12 minutes?

The simply fact that you incorporated the windmill into the scene gives the idea that the windmill is spinning the stars...makes me dizzy

Beautiful! How long was the exposure and f/stop? Do you remember?

If i tried that where i live I would get an orange glow from the light pollution

Amazing shot, the windmill in the foreground really gives it a sense of stability amongst the whirlwind of chaos in the stars.
Really reminds you just how goddamn fast this earth is spinning right now...!!

Spectacular photo, really awesome

I have the same camera as you and I've tryed to do smiliar stuff like this. But there is always a lot of noise and hot pixels. Do you have the same problem? and how do you deal with it?

thks

Wow, all that on a digital rebel. I would have thougth the ccd would produce a lot of noise! I'm glad to see it didnt. Look great!

arin.. 300D uses a CMOS instead a CCD... and itΒ΄s larger than sensors on digitals compacts .. thatΒ΄s why thereΒ΄s not a lot of noise. ([link] ) but with long exposure, digital cameras still show Dead Pixels (Hot pixels), which are pixels complete white or red, gree or blue..

woah, a 12 minute shutter speed, now thats long exposure. this is awesome, must have been a pretty still night if the windmill hasnt moved in 12 minutes.

nice work
