Description Seattle, Washington
2005

One of the best buildings I have ever seen for black and white photography shadow-play. This is a digital image that I think might have been better shot on film.

What do you think?

Yes, there have to be at least a whole roll of shots one could do of this building!  This trip I'm going to shoot the interior.

Great shot, and short of using film, you may want to experiment with b&w film plugins for Photoshop - they offer an excellent option to improve digital b&w.

maxlake2 In reply to ruabuddha [2008-12-25 17:57:17 +0000 UTC]

Thanks so much! I have the Fred Miranda B&W conversion program, but I was on a different computer when I was playing with this image. I'll re-convert when I do decide to make a print of this.
Merry Christmas!

I'd agree film would be better.. but the only we would see it is via digital medium.. sometime RL is the only way.. still a great shot

Thanks! Yes, I thought that color distracted too much from the parts of the image I wanted to have the most attention.

Thanks Alicia!
It's funny . . . I converted this image to b&w on a friend's computer, using only Channel Mixer. But I'm going to try it again using a B&W conversion program I have. It's by Fred Miranda, called B&W Photo Pro (or something like that - shows how long it's been since I used it!) I really like that program. Maybe I'll e-mail you that image when I'm done!
