Prosecutors always have this same look with a 'not guilty' verdict no matter who is on trial. 
I am a legal Assistant, my ex husband is a Defense Attorney. I recognize their expressions.

I like how the focus is on the mans face, not in womans who is up front. Makes the photo more unique in my oppinion

The other dimension is that it was a classic example of a "racially-charged" environment.  The victim in this case was black, and the man on trial was white.  There were news cameras around the courthouse for the duration of the trial. . .
