Description I upgraded my system a bit, and so I had to make a new wallpaper for it: My System

Antoine Magnien's "Milk" was a huge inspiration for this, as you can clearly see.

It spreads nicely between pivoted 1600x1200 and 2560x1600 displays.

The downloadable .zip package includes these six wallpapers you see in the thumbnails above.
Resolution: 3760x1600

BTW, if you use (and even if you don't use) a dual screen system - I very highly recommend you to use XnView as your image viewer, that's an incredible program - and FREEWARE!

Check out how good it is!

I found one of these wallpapers on Social Wallpapering not too long ago and I didn't expect to find it here (seeing that Social Wallpapering uploads don't always include proper credits to original artists).

Anyway... Great wallpaper(s)! I'm glad to see there's more colors, too. Nice.

These are some great WPs. I had to adjust the image size down to 1680x1050. I tried the 3760x1600, but the edges of the "milk" were rough. Lucky for me they still look awesome!!

I only did one of them, but with Maxons permission I can resize them to 1680x1050 and post them in my gallery. I will send Maxon a note asking for said permission.

I have resized the Splash wallpaper with Maxon's permission. Feel free to download them. I sent him the link so he can make sure I gave him the proper credit he deserves for creating the originals.

I was going to download your wallpapers to see it better, but slipped and pressed "request as print" instead. Sorry about that.

That aside, nice set you got there. I like the second-last one due to high contrast and the fact that I prefer drinking milk over blood.

: )

Hi!
I love it!
But - maybe it's just me, but the background gradients aren't smooth!? Specially on the dark one! Help me, Maxon!

maxon In reply to kobi [2008-03-07 15:04:15 +0000 UTC]

Hello,
I'm aware of this problem but couldn't solve it - I've tried high blurring-settings, even 32-bit channels, and subtle noise - nothing seems to help - I have no idea how one can ever achieve nice smooth gradients

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

wilsoninc In reply to maxon [2008-04-03 09:53:32 +0000 UTC]

that's cuz the jpeg quality and also cuz the monitors can't display as much colours as the eye can see ^^, try this, creat a large gradient between 2 near colors like blue and the same blue but more black, you'll see that gradient isn't smooth anymore, great wallpapers!! i've already downloaded it, also i have a question what kind of system is that, i'm saving to get a new pc also if you can tell me the price of your machine i'd be very pleased, i want to know how much i need to save! XD

wow, nice system, i prefer symetry though, so you should get another monitor and pc And then use multiplicity to save deskspace and hassle.

Great wall by the way.

maxon In reply to vozzz [2008-03-04 06:49:14 +0000 UTC]

Wowzah, thanks for the link for multiplicity
- I may have to start using it.

I do have dual PC's as well, as you can see in one of the images, they're just pretty much hidden.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vozzz In reply to maxon [2008-03-04 08:12:25 +0000 UTC]

so u have 1 monitor per pc? No good. You should have the centre and right on one pc, and the left one on the second one.

best setup. As you can put heaps of tools and stuff on the 2nd monitor, while keeping the big one for viewports, and then 2nd pc with the other pc, can be used for reference material, tutorials, help files, wateva, or play movies on it.

maxon In reply to vozzz [2008-03-04 14:28:15 +0000 UTC]

Yeah you got a good point. Gotta see when they release the reasonably priced 40" OLed-displays or something.

And also maybe I'll need one attached to roof and one attached under my desk, yeah

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vozzz In reply to maxon [2008-03-05 02:19:57 +0000 UTC]

i was gona get 2 more 19 widescreens above my existing setup, but i moved out.... So now i'm back to just one pc and 2 screens for a while. until maybe i find an easy way to transport large amount of monitors, or when they finally start selling those paper displays which you can just roll up into tubes. Those will be the days.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

maxon In reply to vozzz [2008-03-06 05:19:27 +0000 UTC]

That's so true.
Paper-displays with so precise touch-sensors, that you can make a stroke with a standard paintbrush and the monitor detects every single hair that sweeps across the surface and puts paint there

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vozzz In reply to maxon [2008-03-06 06:00:46 +0000 UTC]

that indeed would be cool, but i don't really paint, or excercise all that much art outside of the pc.

so for me it's the portability.

yeah that may be the case - but nothing stops you for cropping and stretching the wallpaper to fit the screens
