Description Forest Dragon

Habitat:
- any where but more traditionally temperate mountain regions with thick forests
- large caves or dens, loners tend to travel without either as a home location
- most get along well with humans/humanoid populations, but still prefer to be alone

Diet:
- omnivores
- but prefer larger amounts of meat to anything else
- do not bother to cook their food

Size:
- males are typically larger than females, in all ways, but not by drastic amounts
- medium sized, smaller then the most well known species such as red dragons or black dragons; this is due to their habitat

a. adult
height at shoulder: 4-7 feet approx
length from nose to tip of tail: 18-25 feet approx
wing span: 30 feet and over

b. baby
height at shoulder: 2-3 feet approx
length from nose to tip of tail: 6-10 feet approx
wing span: under 8 feet

Females:
- go through biyearly heat cycles
- they have scent glands at the base of their horns, on the back side mainly to attrack the males during heat cycles
- have live birth
- do provide milk for their young
- have antler like horns

Males:
- larger than females, but not by an extreme amount
- antler-horns tend to be slightly larger & thicker then females

Both sexes:
- prehensile tails, but only the very end of it

Society:
- more solitary then the larger Quatarr dragons that share their habbitat
- live individually or with a mate/young
- can choose to have a mate for life or stay alone, both are acceptable

Language:
- traditional draconic
- human and/or other humanoid such as Elvish
- localized dialects of the above

Religion:
- teach respect for all things
- reincarnation
- live with nature, not against it
- follow old standing traditions passed down from generation to generation

Development:
1) toddler: 0 – 5 year old
2) adolescent/prepubescent: 5-13
3) teen/young adult: 14-25
4) breeding age: 25 and up
5) adult: 50-700
6) 500-700: less chance of reproducing, also more risky
7) elder/post breeding ability: 700 and up


Magic Abilities:
- each are born with a natural nack or talent for one of the following (though they can learn and care capable of all abilities)
A. plant life manipulation, including growth & death - stronger of the two ability types
B. weather manipulation, including wind, rain, storms, etc - minor changes only

Colors/markings:
Any color, marking, shade, etc that can be found in the family Cervidae. This includes oddities like pied, albino, etc. You may also combine markings and colors from different species.
